Biography
Rebecca Burkart received a B.S. in Music Education and a M.M. in Harpsichord Performance from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She gave harpsichord and chamber music concerts in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and South Africa and with her husband, Arnold, established a chamber music series in Muncie. She received a M.M. and Ph.D. in Historical Musicology from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Rebecca was on the faculty at North Florida Community College in Madison, Florida for 7 years teaching piano, voice, guitar, choir, band, and music appreciation. She is now teaching music history at Ball State University and playing continuo for performances there. She is married to Arnold Burkart and has one daughter, Laurel Burkart Reyes of Nashville Tennessee.
